The Sterling Advantage

We strive for zero harm by actively caring for ourselves and others. Safety, in all that we do, is our number one core value and primary focus as a company. It is at the forefront of our culture, caring for our employees and their well-being. It begins with individual responsibility and accountability and extending that to caring for our co-workers and all of our employees along with those of our customers.
Our safety culture has an overarching principle of people-based safety. This hinges on behaviors and attitudes toward providing a safe environment for everyone.

Our Processes and Programs
All new employees complete a safety orientation prior to performing any work-related activities. The orientation is designed to provide employees with the knowledge and tools necessary to work safely on our projects.
It is crucial for our team members to understand that hazards exist in the workplace and any identified hazard should be eliminated or controlled. The HITWalk program is designed to engage all levels of a team to proactively identify and eliminate or control hazards.
Prior to the start of a project, pre-job planning allows our teams to collaborate in an effort to reduce injury potential and risk, ensure compliance with regulatory and client/owner requirements, and effectively implement the overall safety program. This activity helps promote a safer and healthier working environment for every team member.
CDSI is a craft-led team that represents each team member on our projects. This team voices issues, challenges, and concerns directly to our management and upholds our culture where everyone has a voice and takes ownership in our safety program.
